What women want – from their car dealer

A popular women’s car website has given dealers an insight into what woman want when it comes time to buy a car.
The poll appeared on autochic for more than three months and asked women to vote for what the car industry could do to make them feel less intimidated when buying a car.
With over 50% of all new car purchases now being made by women, and with 85% of all car purchases decided on by the fairer gender, dealers should take note: over 5000 respondents showed that women want more female sales staff, female-specific car clinics and girls-only dedicated evenings and events.
Auto Chic’s managing director, Kathy Hamill, says the results were positive for the sales industry:
“The poll results are encouraging for the car industry in that women are keen to engage with them, and get more information and advice about all things automotive. But it’s also proof positive that given the choice, women prefer to get that advice from other women.”
Auto Chic’s founding director, Juliet Potter, says it’s all about relationships: “For the car companies who implement any of these initiatives, they’re on the road to not only helping eliminate the perception that the automotive industry is ‘blokey’, but are also building brand loyalty along with increasing their sales results. It’s a win-win result.”
